Service Description

Deep diving on standard air can increase the effects of nitrogen narcosis, affecting judgment and slowing reaction time. The SSI Extended Range Trimix course introduces helium into the breathing mix to reduce these effects, helping divers maintain greater clarity, control, and confidence at depth. By supporting safer and more efficient deep exploration, the course also enhances the overall diving experience. Who it’s for: The ultimate explorer. Divers who want to target deeper wrecks and walls up to 45 meters while reducing the effects of narcosis. What you’ll learn: The physics and physiology of helium-based mixed gases Advanced decompression software planning Executing deep gas switches as a team Managing a maximum of 25 minutes of accumulated decompression. The Payoff: The ability to explore to 45 metres with greater clarity, confidence, and the skills to manage decompression safely. Course pre-requisites: Minimum Age: 18 Minimum Certification: Extended Range Nitrox (or equivalent) OR 50 logged dives. Max Depth: 45 Meters / 145 Feet Decompression Limit: Up to 25 minutes of accumulated decompression time. Gas Mix: Normoxic Trimix (Helium, Nitrogen, Oxygen) & up to 100% O2 for decompression. Course includes 1 confined water dive and 6 open water dives. Ultimate flexibility: carry out your technical training at home in the UK, or combine your dive training with a dream holiday and complete it in Cyprus or Egypt.
