Service Description
The SSI Extended Range Nitrox course is your first step into decompression diving. It introduces the planning, discipline, and redundant equipment configurations needed to safely manage staged and accelerated decompression. You’ll learn advanced gas planning, oxygen exposure limits, technical gear setup, and team emergency procedures. The course also covers switching to an independent decompression cylinder to help accelerate your ascent safely and efficiently. Who it’s for: Recreational divers ready to safely push past the no-decompression limit (NDL) using a single decompression stage bottle. What you’ll learn: Complex gas planning Calculating oxygen limits Managing technical gear setups Team emergency procedures (such as dealing with manifold leaks and free-flows) Switching to an independent decompression cylinder containing up to 100% oxygen to safely accelerate your ascent. The Payoff: Safely conduct planned decompression dives down to 40 meters. Course pre-requisites: Minimum Age: 18 Minimum certification: Deep Diving, Enriched Air Nitrox 40%, and 24 logged dives. Max Depth: 40 Meters / 130 Feet Decompression Limit: Up to 15 minutes of accumulated decompression time. Gear Configuration: Twinset (Double Tanks) or Sidemount, plus 1 Stage Cylinder. Course includes 1 confined water dive and 4 open water dives. Ultimate flexibility: carry out your technical training at home in the UK, or combine your dive training with a dream holiday and complete it in Cyprus or Egypt.
